A new Italian restaurant is set to open in Cardiff city centre next week, offering customers 3,000 free dishes of pasta during its opening week.
The Solina Pasta is due to open at 27 Westgate Street, in the former Zero Degrees site, on Monday, September 28. The restaurant will open its doors at 12pm.
Customers will be able to walk in and claim a free pasta dish, with no reservations required.
Free pasta promotion details
A social media post shared by the restaurant states: "Free pasta limited to one plate per person. Every participating guest must show that they’re following @solinapasta to claim their plate."
The promotion will run from Monday, September 28 until Monday, October 5, with the 3,000 free dishes being handed out on a first come, first served basis until they run out.
The restaurant is expected to be open from 12pm until 10pm on its opening day.
Second branch and new location
The Cardiff restaurant will be The Solina Pasta’s second branch, following its first restaurant in Bath. It will be based in a former garage which is now a Grade II listed building directly opposite the Principality Stadium.
The building was previously used as a shared garage by two prominent city centre hotels for decades before becoming home to a large food and drink venue. The former venue became known as a popular spot for post-work drinks, parties and locally sourced food and drink.
The Solina Pasta describes itself as serving "delicious, quick, and affordable handmade pasta", with its menu combining Italian flavours with British produce.
The new Cardiff restaurant will now take over the Westgate Street site as it prepares to welcome its first customers next week.
