Nando's has launched a new air fryer seasoning at Sainsbury's, priced at £3 (£2.50 with Nectar price), and fans are rushing to get their hands on it to make budget-friendly fakeaways at home.
Three Flavours Available
New Foods UK shared a photo revealing the seasoning comes in three flavours: medium, peri-BBQ, and peri-paprika and garlic. The product promises "flavour in a flash" and is designed to help keep costs down for families.
The Sainsbury's website reads: "Everyone's favourite kitchen appliance needed a bit of seasoning... Ding. Enter our legendary peri-peri (African bird's eye chillies) with a medium kick. Sprinkle on chicken, meat, veggies or wedges for a quick and easy midweek dinner. Call us ninjas of flavour".
Shopper Reactions
On Instagram, one user commented: "We need to try these," tagging a friend. On Facebook, some shoppers questioned why the seasoning was marketed specifically for air fryers. One asked: "How does a seasoning know it's an air fryer one?" while another accused: "What a cash grab lol."
A food enthusiast explained the difference: "Only difference from the powder packet is that these ones contain cornflour and don't contain tomato powder".
Making a Nando's Fakeaway at Home
Instagrammer Sarah (@sarahs_sw_diary) shared how she recreates the meal for £7 for two people. She said: "Love saving money making a Nando's fakeaway, this is a fraction of the cost, this cost £7 to make for the 2 of us." Her recipe includes chicken breasts, microwave rice with peri peri seasoning, Nando's garlic sauce, halloumi, ciabatta rolls, and coleslaw.
