Marks and Spencer's has brought back its viral Yorkshire pudding wrap as part of the cafe's autumn menu, and the roast dinner favourite is already winning over customers. The wrap, which debuted last year on the winter menu, became an instant hit, and one fan said they would be "running to the cafe immediately" after hearing of its return.
A roast dinner wrapped in Yorkshire pudding
Priced at £8.50, customers can choose between two options: roast chicken or pulled pork. The slow cooked roast chicken wrap includes British roast chicken paired with sage and onion stuffing, savoy cabbage and roasted carrots, finished with a thick white sauce gravy. The slow cooked pulled pork version features six-hour slow cooked British pulled pork, creamy leeks and sage and onion stuffing, smothered in a Kentish apple cider sauce and enveloped in a crispy Yorkshire pudding.
Eilidh Farquhar, a trainee trends, showbiz and lifestyle writer, tried the roast chicken wrap at the M&S cafe on Argyll Street, Glasgow. She noted that the wraps were marked down to £4.50 when she arrived, likely due to visiting after the lunch time rush.
Flavours deliver despite a form issue
While the wrap had not held its form during cooking, making it hard to eat with hands, the flavours did not disappoint. Held together in a fluffy yet crispy Yorkshire pudding, the wrap was filled with a decent amount of moist chicken, complemented by thick and runny gravy and crunchy vegetables. Each bite combined all the flavours of a roast, and the writer said she would certainly try the pulled pork version next.
Other customers have also given the wraps rave reviews since their return. One person wrote on Instagram: "I tried the Chicken Yorkshire Pudding Wrap today! Just WOW! It tastes incredible." Another added: "I had the pulled pork Yorkie pud today and it was delicious!" A third fan wrote: "YUMMMM!" Meanwhile, other foodies appeared to be making plans to try it out, with one stating: "Take my money!!" and another adding: "Running to the cafe immediately".
The writer recommends heading to a local M&S cafe for the Yorkshire pudding wraps while they are on the menu, particularly for fans of roast dinners looking for a tasty treat during a shopping trip or busy work day.
