M&S Sparks Loyalty Scheme Unveils Major New Prize Draw Feature

Marks & Spencer has announced a significant new addition to its recently revamped Sparks loyalty programme, introducing monthly prize draws exclusively for members. This development follows the retailer's comprehensive shake-up of the scheme earlier this week, which transitioned to a "pounds, not points" model.

From Cash Rewards to Exclusive Competitions

The latest update, set to launch on Monday, April 17, 2026, marks the first time Sparks has incorporated prize draws as a core reward mechanism. The inaugural competition will offer members the chance to win 1 million Virgin Red points, with entry requiring only a simple one-click action within the M&S app.

Sharry Cramond, Marketing Director for Fashion, Home, Beauty & Loyalty at M&S, stated: "New Sparks is less than a week old and already we're making it even more rewarding for customers and colleagues. From Monday we're introducing brand new prize draws every Sparks customer can enter, starting with the chance to win an amazing holiday or experience with Virgin."

How the New Prize Draws Will Operate

Participation is straightforward:

  • Customers must be registered Sparks members.
  • They need to open the M&S app and navigate to the Sparks section.
  • A simple one-click entry completes the process.

The first competition runs from April 20 to May 4, with the winner notified within 14 days. Notably, new Sparks members joining from Sunday, April 19, will be ineligible for this initial draw, providing a brief window for non-members to sign up.

Future Prizes and Enhanced Rewards Structure

Beyond the Virgin Red launch, M&S has outlined an exciting roster of upcoming monthly prizes, including:

  1. Tickets to the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.
  2. £1,000 for a summer wardrobe refresh.
  3. £500 for a summer of M&S Food selections.
  4. A year's supply of school uniforms and children's essentials.

This initiative complements the recently introduced digital Sparks wallet, which allows shoppers to accumulate cash rewards based on spending thresholds. For example:

  • £10 reward for spending £50 on fashion, home, or beauty.
  • £5 reward for spending £35 in the food hall.

Rewards are personalised according to individual purchasing habits and dietary preferences, and can be spent immediately or saved for later occasions like Christmas shopping.

Broader Scheme Updates and Retained Benefits

Alongside the prize draws and cash rewards model, M&S is rolling out a 'Buy & bundle' plan, incentivising customers to purchase selected items together for additional rewards. The retailer is also encouraging shoppers to explore unfamiliar departments within M&S stores.

Despite these extensive modifications, several popular Sparks benefits remain unchanged:

  • Complimentary birthday treats.
  • The "buy six coffees, get the seventh free" stamp card.
  • Charity donations with every transaction.
  • Parent Hood baby club discounts.

However, the Delivery Pass service, which offered unlimited next-day delivery for £25 annually, was discontinued in March 2026. Existing passes will remain valid until expiry but cannot be renewed.

Cramond emphasised the company's ambition: "We won't stop until Sparks is the most rewarding loyalty programme in the UK." This latest update significantly expands the scheme's appeal, blending immediate cash benefits with the thrill of exclusive prize opportunities.
