Marks & Spencer has confirmed it will open a new food hall in the seaside town of Largs, Scotland, on August 13. The 9,000 sq ft store is located on the site of the former Pearson's garage on Main Street.
Long-awaited addition for North Ayrshire
The development follows plans submitted to the local council in 2021. Residents have expressed excitement, with many saying they "can't wait" for the store to open.
Shoppers will be able to buy M&S favourites such as Percy Pigs, fresh bakery items, Select Farms produce and ready meals. The store will also offer a click and collect service.
Store manager's comments
Store manager Mhairi McIntosh said: "It's nearly time to open the doors in Largs, and we're delighted to be joining the local community. Our store is packed with the very best of M&S Food, showcasing our great quality across everything from our Select Farms produce to our delicious in-store bakery."
Part of wider M&S investment
The Largs opening is part of M&S's investment in its food business across the UK. Recently, the retailer has opened new food stores in Hatfield, Luton, Farnham, Oxfordshire and Surrey, including its largest standalone food hall in Godalming. M&S has also expanded full-line stores in Bath Southgate and Bristol's Cabot Circus. Plans are progressing for another M&S Food store in Littlehampton following planning approval for a new retail park.
