Shoppers at the MS Outlet store in Manchester were left frustrated and disappointed after discovering that heavily advertised discounts were not being honoured at the checkout.
The store, which had promoted significant price reductions on a range of items, allegedly failed to apply the discounts when customers went to pay. Many took to social media to express their anger, with some calling it a "bait-and-switch" tactic.
Customers Voice Their Frustrations
One shopper, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I picked up several items because of the huge discounts advertised. But when I got to the till, the prices were completely different. The staff just shrugged and said the system hadn’t been updated."
Another customer added: "It’s misleading and unfair. If you’re going to advertise a sale, you should honour it."

Consumer rights advocates have warned that such practices could damage the reputation of retailers. "Customers have a right to expect transparency and honesty," said one industry expert. "If discounts are advertised, they must be applied correctly."
