Marks and Spencer has launched a new home and wellness advent calendar created with interior designer Kelly Hoppen, featuring a range of fragrance and body care items in packaging designed to be reused after Christmas.
The 12 Days of Wellness Advent Calendar costs £120 and includes both classic and limited edition calendar-exclusive items. Inside, buyers will find three 60g votives, a 30ml diffuser, a pre-scented reed diffuser, a 60ml body wash, a 60ml hand lotion, a 40ml room spray, a 75g soap bar and a 55g pomander.
What's inside the calendar
A snuffer and wick trimmer, silk eye mask and pouch are also included. The items are housed in chic festive boxes that could easily be reused as storage after the holiday season, suiting almost any decor style.
For comparison, The White Company's 2026 Advent Calendar is priced at £195 and includes a full-size Winter Signature Candle among its treats. Another option is the A Jo Loves Advent Calendar, which costs £375 but is worth over £800 and features mini candles, fragrances and more.
Early reviews and popular scents
As the M&S Kelly Hoppen calendar has only just arrived online, it has yet to receive any reviews. However, the No. 1 Fragrance Diffuser from the designer's M&S range, which appears in the calendar, has been reviewed 154 times at the time of writing, with reviewers praising the scent.
One reviewer said: "Really lovely diffuser - smells amazing and have had lots of compliments on the smell of my house since using." Another added: "Great. Beautiful fragrance - not overpowering or synthetic (unlike some). Perfect."
The No. 1 fragrance is described on the M&S website as having notes of bergamot, clove and patchouli. One reviewer noted in part of a lengthy review: "I have previously bought this diffuser and thought the smell was amazing so I bought another two for my house. The new ones have very little smell."
Other scents and alternatives
Despite that, another reviewer said: "Have had the product about four weeks and everyone who has visited has remarked on the lovely fragrance. It is noticeable but not over powering."
The calendar is a 12-day countdown, as opposed to some 24- or 25-day alternatives on the high street, but the No. 2 fragrance is also featured among the products and remains a popular scent from Kelly's range. With notes of Cassis, Fig, Tomato, Green and Rose on a Sandalwood Creamy, Vanilla and Musk base, it is described as a comforting choice for the colder months ahead.
