Marks and Spencer shoppers are snapping up the brand's £26 Cupsole Trainers, which have become a firm favourite for everyday wear thanks to their affordable price, versatile style and comfortable fit. The trainers have drawn praise from buyers who say they look far more expensive than they are.
Design and Availability
The M&S Cupsole Trainers are available in sizes 3 to 8, with some half sizes, and come in three colourways: Black, White and Brown. A description on the M&S website reads: "Keep your casual looks sleek and sophisticated with these low-top trainers."
The cupsole design features high, protective rubber sidewalls for durability and a classic lace-up fastening. An all-over pebble grain finish adds subtle texture to the minimalist style, making them suitable for pairing with jeans, leggings and joggers, or with trousers and dresses for a pared-back office look.
Shopper Reviews
The trainers hold an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars. One five-star reviewer said: "These are amazing! So soft to wear, stylish, comfy and great value! Love them."
A second reviewer wrote: "I bought my usual size. They are an off white colour but a very smart shoe. I have wore them a couple of times now and are comfortable to wear. Loving M&S collections." A third added: "Comfortable from the first time wearing them, would recommend, good price not too expensive."
Another shopper commented: "Was dubious at first ( bearing in mind the price ) whether the trainers would look cheap. Well "Good People" they don't. They look fine and are comfortable!" A fifth said: "These are so comfortable. My third pair in different colours. Even great when it rains."
Minor Criticisms
Some shoppers knocked a star off for the limited colour range. One said: "While these trainers are good value I would have liked another colour choice. I find it difficult to get shoes in navy blue as I wear a lot of blue and designers rarely seem to include blue as a choice of footwear colour." Another criticised the sole, writing: "The fit well and they looked good. I wore them with a fancy jumpsuit. I wish the sole was a touch thicker though."
However, another five-star reviewer wrote: "These are really stylish, considering they’re a trainer. The contrasting sole makes them look more expensive. I feel able to wear them with both trousers and jeans without compromising on style. Really comfortable to walk in. Very pleased." Another concluded: "Great trainers that are comfortable to wear. Look more expensive than they are."
