Morrisons Unveils Major Salad Bar Expansion Across UK Stores

Morrisons has announced a substantial enhancement to its popular salad counters, effective from Monday, April 13, 2026. This update aims to provide customers with a more extensive and customisable dining experience, featuring new toppings, flavour-packed sides, and an expanded selection of protein-rich items.

Enhanced Offerings and Affordable Pricing

The supermarket, renowned for its market-style layout with fresh meat and fish counters, is making its salad bar "even bigger and better," according to company bosses. With over 500 stores nationwide, Morrisons sells approximately 370,000 salad bar tubs weekly during the summer months, capitalising on warmer weather trends that encourage healthier eating choices.

Pricing remains competitive, starting at just £2.75 for a small salad bar tub. Customers can also opt for the medium tub as part of the Food To Go meal deal, which includes a snack and a drink for £3.75. Notably, the new protein pots are now available as snack options within this deal.

New Additions and Family-Friendly Options

As part of the revamp, Morrisons has introduced several new items to its salad bar lineup. These include Caesar Slaw, Katsu Curried Noodles, Tomato Orzo Pasta, Moroccan Couscous, Creamy Potato & Pickle Salad, Spiced Mango & Grains Salad, Sliced Pickles, and Salted Tortillas. Additionally, classic items like Salad Bar Sweet Chilli Noodles and Deli Style Coleslaw have received updated recipes.

The supermarket has also launched an extra-large Family Salad Tub priced at £5.95. This container features five compartments, designed for sharing and offering a variety of fresh choices in one convenient package.

Expanded Protein Range and Limited-Time Competition

Morrisons has bolstered its protein offerings with the introduction of Roast Cooked Chicken Breast Chunks and Tikka Cooked Chicken Breast Chunks, each weighing 80g. These join existing favourites such as boiled eggs, falafel, and chickpea salads, providing customers with more options to create balanced and satisfying meals.

In a promotional move, Morrisons is running a limited-time competition from April 13 to 26, 2026. Shoppers who scan their More Card after purchasing any salad from the counter will be entered into a draw to win a year’s supply of Salad Bar tubs.

Executive Insight and Customer Benefits

Becky Wood, senior trader of the Pizza Counter and Salad Bar at Morrisons, commented on the update: "Whether you’re a long-time fan or discovering our salad bar for the first time, Morrisons Salad Bar offers the perfect mix of flavoursome ingredients, exciting new additions and affordable, pick-and-choose options.
