Morrisons launches three new chocolate bars and one scores 10/10
Morrisons launches 3 new chocolate bars, one rated 10/10

Morrisons has released three new chocolate bar flavours that take classic sweet treats and wrap them in milk chocolate. Among the line-up, the Custard Cream bar has already earned a 10/10 verdict from one online taste tester.

The bars were shared on TikTok by food blogger Minstrel Munches, who showed off all three but only tried one in her first video. The launch follows Morrisons becoming the first supermarket to introduce AI-powered trolleys.

The new flavours

The three new chunky bars are Custard Cream milk chocolate, Jaffa Orange milk chocolate and Peanut Butter and Jelly milk chocolate. Rather than simply flavouring the chocolate, each bar has a creamy filling sandwiched between layers of chocolate.

In her video, the blogger tasted the Custard Cream bar, which has a vanilla cream and biscuit crunch layer covered in milk chocolate. Before tasting it, she said it "smells like custard creams". After biting in, she said: "Wow. That is top tier. There's actually biscuit pieces in there. In the custard cream ... cream. That is elite. Good biscuit pieces, getting the custard cream flavour, that's a 10 out of 10. Get down [to] Morrisons and give it a try."

Shoppers react

Commenters on the video were quick to respond, with several saying they wanted to try the new bars. One person said: "These look insane!! I really need to go have a look and try them out, soooo yummy looking!!" Another added: "I will be smashing these." A third wrote: "I really want to try the custard cream bar!"

Each of the three Morrisons chocolate bars is priced at £2 for a 165g bar, and the supermarket lists them as "luxury chocolate". The Jaffa Orange bar is described as having a "zesty orange jelly layer", while the Peanut Butter and Jelly bar is described as having a "creamy, nutty, and fruity jelly layer".

Reviews and free breakfast offer

The bars are too new to have reviews on the Morrisons website, but an Instagram review of the Jaffa Orange bar rated it 7.5 out of 10, calling it "good quality" but "very messy" to break into squares. The reviewer wrote: "Good quality thick chunks of milk chocolate with a gooey Jaffa orange sauce in each block. It's got the combo of both Jaffa and orange. It's not pure Jaffa. Very messy if you break through the squares, so break carefully."

Alongside the chocolate launch, Morrisons has announced a free Kellogg's breakfast deal available to anyone in the UK between now and September. The offer is designed to help struggling families during the summer holidays while children are out of school, and it can be claimed at any Morrisons with a cafe.

Money specialist Jordon Cox shared the deal on Instagram. He said: "If you’re struggling over the school summer holidays - head down to a Morrisons Café." He added: "Anyone can claim this, although the deal is focused on helping people who may be struggling to afford keeping the kids fed/entertained over the summer. So maybe only use it if you need it!"

To redeem the free breakfast, customers can ask at the cafe till for a "Kellogg's Breakfast". In stores with touch-screen ordering kiosks, they can select the dedicated free breakfast option.
