Morrisons Announces Major Price Reductions on Grocery Essentials
Morrisons has revealed it is implementing substantial price changes across a wide array of its grocery products, impacting thousands of everyday essentials. The supermarket chain confirmed that these adjustments will be prominently displayed both in-store and on its official website, ensuring transparency for shoppers.
Focus on Weekly Shopping Baskets
The retailer emphasised that the price reductions specifically target popular items frequently purchased by customers as part of their regular weekly shopping. This initiative forms a core component of Morrisons' ongoing commitment to delivering value and assisting consumers in keeping their household bills manageable. The new pricing structure is effective from this week and will remain in place throughout the entire month of April.
Alex Paver, Pricing and Customer Director at Morrisons, stated: "We recognise that consumer confidence remains low, and managing household budgets is a genuine concern for many of our customers. Consequently, we have concentrated on lowering prices for everyday essentials and family favourites that our customers consistently buy week after week."

Notable reductions include Fyffes Loose Bananas now priced at 90p, Morrisons Baby Potatoes 1kg at £1.09, Morrisons Corn Cobettes (2pk) at £1.29, and Morrisons Baby Plum Tomatoes 250g at 68p. Ongoing Commitment to Affordability
Morrisons highlighted that this latest round of price reductions is part of its sustained investment in affordable everyday shopping. In January, the retailer cut prices on 2,500 products, with a particular focus on fresh produce, cupboard staples, and branded items to aid customers in managing post-Christmas expenses.
Last week, Morrisons implemented several Easter price cuts on seasonal roast essentials, including carrots, parsnips, and whole swede priced at just 4p each, alongside deals on meat and fish centrepieces. The supermarket also announced the upcoming launch of its Baby Event, which will offer parents discounts on a variety of baby and toddler essentials. Additionally, its Cleaning Event is currently active, featuring offers across multiple household and cleaning products.
