McMonagles Fish and Chips, a floating chippy on the Forth and Clyde Canal in Clydebank, has introduced Salt N Chilli Pizza Crunch Fries, topped with cheese and curry sauce. The dish costs £7.50 for takeaway and £8.50 for those dining in the restaurant.

The restaurant shared a video of the new menu item on social media, which has gone viral. The caption read: "You guys asked for them so we've delivered!!!" Social media users responded enthusiastically, with one writing: "Wow I am foaming at the mouth," and another saying: "Whoever asked for this deserves a Nobel prize. I'll be in today."
McMonagles, recently named one of the top 'hidden gems' eateries in the UK by Paddle UK, clarified that the invention is not their own, writing: "Appreciation to the chippy who started this."
Other chippies join the trend
Hook 'N' Catch in Bearsden is also offering its own version of pizza crunch fries. The takeaway posted a video of them preparing the dish, writing: "Gregor from Bearsden requested pizza crunch fries and we think he's on to something."
The trend is believed to have originated with The Bridge Sauchie chip shop in Alloa, which posted the first video of the dish earlier this week.
