Man Dies After Medical Emergency Outside Coventry Primark

A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest outside the Primark store in Broadgate, Coventry, on Monday morning. Emergency services were called at 9:08am after shoppers reported the man collapsing, with police officers arriving first and performing CPR.

West Midlands Ambulance Service crews took over resuscitation efforts, using a defibrillator and providing advanced life support en route to University Hospital Coventry. However, the man was confirmed dead on arrival at A&E.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: 'We were called to reports of a medical emergency outside Primark on Broadgate, Coventry, at 9.08am today. Crews arrived to find police officers performing CPR and using a defibrillator on a man in cardiac arrest. Ambulance staff quickly took over resuscitation efforts and continued advanced life support on the man en route to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Sadly, nothing could be done to save him, and the man was confirmed deceased on arrival in A&E.'

A cordon was put in place in the busy shopping centre, with shops taped off from the public. Many people took to social media to express their sadness, with one person writing: 'I was there in town they worked so hard on the poor man god bless.' Another said: 'So very sad my thoughts are with his family and friends may he rest in peace.'
