JM Wholesale, a major vape distributor based in Leicestershire, has entered administration, according to a notice filed on March 20. The company, which supplies over 15,000 products including e-liquids, disposable vapes, and nicotine pouches, appointed Christopher Lewis and Chris Newell of Quantuma as administrators via law firm Shakespeare Martineau.
The firm described itself as the largest distributor in the vaping, CBD, and smoking category in the UK. Its website currently displays a message stating it is not accepting orders due to maintenance. JM Wholesale had 47 staff members as of its latest accounts for the year ending February 2025.
Founded in 2017 by university students who struggled to find quality vaping products online, the company expanded rapidly, moving to larger premises in Leicester and hiring 30 new staff by 2021. It was also the first mainstream CBD wholesaler in the UK.
In 2022, JM Wholesale won several awards, including Best Vape & E-liquid Wholesaler at the Business Elite Awards and Best CBD Distributor & Manufacturer at the Global Excellence Awards. The administration follows a ban on single-use vapes in the UK, which came into force nearly a year ago to reduce environmental waste and youth nicotine addiction.
