LK Bennett Website Shuts Down with 90% Off Sale After Administration
LK Bennett Website Closes with 90% Off Sale After Administration

In a significant development for the UK retail sector, the prominent fashion brand LK Bennett has confirmed the impending shutdown of its official website, accompanied by a colossal clearance sale offering discounts of up to 90 percent. The company, which entered administration in January, is now in its final days of online trading, marking a poignant moment for a label long cherished by style icons including the Princess of Wales.

Final Online Sale Launched with Deep Discounts

LK Bennett has initiated what it describes as its "biggest offer ever," slashing prices across its entire inventory. Shoppers can enjoy a minimum discount of 80 percent on all products, with selected premium items, including dresses, shoes, and accessories, reduced by as much as 90 percent. The brand's website will cease operations shortly, urging customers to act quickly to secure these exclusive deals.

The company stated emphatically: "It's your final few days to shop the LKB website before it closes. Our biggest offer ever has arrived—enjoy at least 80 percent off everything, with up to 90 percent off online." A spokesperson highlighted the exceptional nature of the offers, noting that everything has been reduced, including new season pieces, and anticipating strong demand that may lead to swift sell-outs of key styles.

Administration and Acquisition Background

LK Bennett, founded by Linda Bennett in London in 1990, fell into administration earlier this year, leading to the appointment of John Noon and Mark Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP as joint administrators. Subsequently, the brand's assets were purchased by the US firm Gordon Brothers. However, this transaction did not include nine standalone stores and 13 concession outlets across the United Kingdom, which continue to operate under administration.

Last month, the brand initiated sales with discounts of up to 75 percent, as reported by the Express. The firm clarified that while online sales via the LK Bennett website would continue for the foreseeable future post-administration, the physical stores were not part of the acquisition deal and remain under administrative control.

Royal Endorsement and Brand Legacy

LK Bennett has built a reputation as a high-end women's clothing brand, specialising in elegant dresses, knitwear, luxury footwear such as boots, and handbags. Its appeal was notably bolstered by Princess Kate, who has frequently chosen LK Bennett pieces for royal engagements, including a flutter-sleeve dress worn in 2022 that garnered widespread attention.

The brand's statement last month emphasised the legal framework of the administration, noting: "The Company's affairs, business and property are being managed by the Joint Administrators, who act as agents of the Company and without personal liability." This underscores the transitional phase as the brand navigates its financial restructuring.

As the website prepares to close, loyal customers are being thanked for their support over the years and encouraged to shop early to avoid disappointment. This closure represents a significant shift for a beloved British fashion retailer, highlighting the challenges faced by high-street brands in a competitive market.
