LK Bennett, the high street fashion chain favoured by the Princess of Wales and former Prime Minister Theresa May, has closed its website after entering administration. The retailer, known for its elegant footwear and clothing, has nine stores primarily in and around London, along with seven concessions, including two in Dublin.
The company's website now displays a message indicating it is no longer taking orders. This development follows the appointment of administrators from Teneo Financial Advisory, who are expected to seek a buyer for the business or parts of it.
LK Bennett has faced financial difficulties in recent years, with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating challenges in the retail sector. The chain had previously entered administration in 2019 before being rescued by a Chinese investor.
The Princess of Wales has been photographed wearing LK Bennett designs on several occasions, including a teal dress worn during the first date of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK in 2012. The brand's closure marks another blow to the UK high street, which has seen a wave of administrations and store closures.
