Two friends from Liverpool have shared a message with their home city after their globally recognised brand reached new heights. Daniel Yuen and Kieran Riddell-Austin, the founders of Montirex, revealed that the technical sportswear and outdoor clothing brand achieved a turnover of £129.3m for the year ending December 31 2025.
This performance represents a 79% increase on the previous year and reinforces Montirex's position as one of the UK's leading sportswear brands. The brand's vibrant static t-shirts have proven hugely popular with customers and have become a familiar feature in wardrobes across the region.
From 2019 Launch to Forbes Recognition
Yuen and Riddell-Austin launched Montirex in 2019, growing it into a regional favourite and one of Liverpool's biggest homegrown success stories. Over the past few years, the brand has experienced remarkable growth, turning over millions, opening a Liverpool ONE store and launching The Montirex Foundation - a dedicated charitable arm with a "bold mission to support youth mental health through sport".
Because of these achievements, the friends were both included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Europe Retail & Ecommerce category and on The Sunday Times Young Power List 2026.
Investment and Expansion in 2025
Montirex continued to invest heavily in 2025, increasing its headcount from 66 to 111 across marketing, product development and technology. The brand said growth was driven by strong demand across consumer and wholesale channels, increasing sales across European markets and the continued expansion of Montirex's product offering.
During the year, the brand strengthened its position in the running and training categories through the expansion of its MTX Run range, while investing in more technical products through collaborations with performance fabric specialists, including Polartec.
Founders' Message to the City
Kieran said: "When we started Montirex, our ambition was simply to create high-performance sportswear that looks great and remains accessible.
"Seeing our business grow to more than £129 million in revenue has been incredible and it’s an achievement that reflects the loyalty of our customers as well as the commitment of our growing team."
"What's particularly exciting is seeing the brand reach new audiences. Over the past year we've expanded our product offering across running, training and lifestyle categories, while also seeing strong demand from customers across Europe.
"As people increasingly discover Montirex through new channels and retailers, we're evolving into a broader active lifestyle brand, which gives us real confidence for the next stage of growth."
