Liverpool eye six more deals after £120m Barcola agreement

Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of Bradley Barcola, in a deal worth £120million in total, with £100m of that a fixed fee. The move comes after Mohamed Salah left the club at the end of last season, and the Reds have spent the summer pushing hard to sign wingers, with Barcola their first-choice target throughout.

With the Barcola deal now seemingly close, attention turns to what else Liverpool might do before the transfer window closes. Express Sport has identified six deals that could still happen.

Another forward addition

Liverpool have room for more than one forward addition, having yet to replace Salah on the right. Ibrahim Mbaye, Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr have all been linked with moves to the Merseyside outfit, with a growing belief that Barcola will not be the only forward signing.

Gakpo to leave

The knock-on effect of the Barcola deal could see Cody Gakpo, linked with a move all summer, finally allowed to leave the club. Gakpo is of interest to Tottenham, who are rebuilding after back-to-back 17th-place finishes. Manchester City have been touted as a potential suitor, but that move looks unlikely to happen.

Sign a midfielder

Despite heavy spending in the last 12 months, there are still holes in the Liverpool squad, including in central midfield. Lamine Camara from Monaco is emerging as the most likely candidate, while Manu Kone has been mentioned as a target in the past.

Sell three players before deadline day

Outgoings also need to be sorted. Federico Chiesa's time at Liverpool could be ending, with the Italian remaining unfancied under Andoni Iraola, as was the case when Arne Slot was in charge. Stefan Bajcetic is closing in on a return to former club Celta Vigo. Harvey Elliott is still a Liverpool player following his loan spell at Aston Villa last season, but could secure a last-minute move before the window closes.
