Lidl is launching a budget-friendly LIVARNO LED Night Light priced at £6.99, which costs around 0.05p per hour to run — equating to about 0.25p per day, 7.5p per month and roughly 90p a year, based on current UK energy price cap averages.
The device, available in black or white, will be sold at more than 1,000 Lidl stores from Thursday, October 15. It plugs directly into a wall socket and offers two settings: it can switch on automatically at dusk or be operated manually whenever extra light is needed.
Product features and specifications
The night light has a power consumption of 2W and includes two light modes: dynamic colour transitions and seven individual colours. The light unit rotates 180 degrees, is mains operated, and comes with a 3-year warranty.
Shoppers can visit the Lidl website for more information and to browse other products. As Lidl does not offer home delivery, the item must be purchased in store. To avoid a wasted journey, customers can use Lidl's online store finder by entering their postcode to check availability at their nearest branch, particularly on launch day as stock may vary between stores.
Previous budget-friendly Lidl gadget
This follows Lidl's earlier sale of the Neck & Shoulder Heating Pad, priced at £17.99 or £16.19 for Lidl Plus members. Made from 100% polyester with a soft, cushioned design, it is worn around the neck with an adjustable toggle offering six heat settings.
Running at just 100W, it would cost roughly 2.63p per hour to run continuously under the current price cap. For safety reasons, it should not be left on indefinitely, with an automatic shut-off after 90 minutes.
