Lidl is launching the SENSIPLAST Back & Neck Heat Pad across all its UK stores from Thursday, October 1. Lidl Plus members can buy it for £13.49, a 10 per cent saving on the regular retail price of £14.99.
Product features and design
Made from 100 per cent polyester, the pad has a grey cushioned look with "extra soft fabric" and can be attached around the neck and worn over the back. It "heats up quickly" and offers "six different heat settings" to suit individual needs.
The product includes an adjustable abdominal strap and soft hook & loop fastener at the neck, plus an electronic temperature control with a safety system. It switches off automatically after 90 minutes and is machine washable at 30°C on a delicates cycle. Power consumption is 100W, with dimensions of 62 x 41cm and a 2.8m power cable. It comes with a 3-year warranty.
Why it matters
The launch comes as Ofgem is set to increase the energy bill price cap by four per cent from October, taking the typical annual bill for a dual-fuel household paying by Direct Debit to £1,723. The heat pad could appeal to remote workers and those spending more time at home who want to avoid turning on the heating.
The heater is only available via in-store collection. Shoppers can check stock levels at their nearest Lidl branch on launch day using the online store finder.
Lidl is also launching a range of home furniture items, including the LIVARNO Grey Rug for £12.99, described as "perfect for your living room, bedroom or dining room". Available in blue, the rug features a "stylish" vintage aesthetic with a soft and comfortable pile suitable for underfloor heating. It goes on sale from Sunday, September 27.
