Lidl's £50 blender rivals Ninja's £155 model in October sale

Lidl shoppers can save more than £100 on a kitchen gadget that promises "perfect" smoothies and soups, with the Silvercrest Premium Jug Blender set to feature in the supermarket's October kitchen sale. The appliance will be available in stores from Sunday, October 11, priced at £59.99, or £49.99 for those who scan the Lidl Plus app at the till.

Features and performance

According to Lidl's website, the device is "perfect for smoothies, soups, sauces, crushed ice, nuts and more," with ingredients able to be heated to serving temperature through high-speed blade friction at the touch of a button. The gadget includes six preset programmes and 10 manually adjustable speed settings "for versatile results," along with "specially hardened six-blade stainless steel cutters" that can "effortlessly chop even hard ingredients."

Comparison with Ninja model

An online search shows that a premium brand alternative could cost over £100 more. The Ninja CrushBOSS Intelligent Blender is currently available directly from the retailer for £154.99 outside of any sale period. Ninja describes the device as its "most powerful and intelligent blender," backed by 1200 watts of crushing power and guided by SmartMenu Technology, delivering "chef-level results at the touch of a dial."
