Lidl's £1.99 Chrysanthemum Pot Hits Stores This Weekend

Lidl is launching a Chrysanthemum Pot for £1.99 in all its UK stores this weekend, giving shoppers a budget-friendly way to add colour to their homes this autumn. The indoor plant, available from Sunday, October 11, comes in four colours: pink, yellow, red and white.

Product Details and Availability

The Chrysanthemum Pot features a simple green flower pot filled with blooms that can be displayed on windowsills, side tables, or around living rooms, kitchens, dining spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms and more. The pot has a diameter of 12cm and stands between 25 and 31cm tall, taking up minimal space.

Chrysanthemums are known for their daisy-like blooms, which typically flower from September to November in the UK. The item is only available for in-store collection, and shoppers can check stock levels at their local Lidl via the online store finder on launch day.

Comparison with Pricier Alternatives

Lidl's offering is significantly cheaper than similar products elsewhere. The Horti House sells a Chrysanthemum 14cm Double Flower Mixed Colours for £20, which is ten times more expensive than Lidl's version. That product comes in a 14cm pot and stands up to 40cm tall.

B&Q also sells a Mixed Chrysanthemum 'Zembla' Pot for £24.99, supplied in a 17cm pot with an approximate overall height of 35cm. A B&Q spokesperson said: "Bring a cheerful burst of colour into your home with this mixed Chrysanthemum, presented in a generous 17cm pot."

Care Instructions

The B&Q product description advises placing the chrysanthemum in a bright indoor position, away from harsh midday sunlight, and watering when the surface of the compost begins to feel dry. Lidl has not provided specific care instructions for its pot, but shoppers can visit the Lidl website for more information.
