Lidl will launch the CRIVIT Men's Navy Hiking Boots on Thursday, October 15, priced at £17.99, offering a budget alternative to higher-end boots sold elsewhere. The supermarket, which has roughly 1,000 locations across the UK, will sell the footwear in stores only, with no home delivery option.
Product details and availability
The boots feature a treaded TPR sole with a cushioning EVA midsole, a breathable mesh upper, padded ankle collar, and a moulded removable insole. Sizes range from 7.5 to 11.5. The navy design includes black, orange, and grey accents, suitable for hiking or casual wear.
Shoppers can check availability at their nearest Lidl branch using the supermarket's online store finder by entering their postcode.
Comparison with higher-priced alternatives
Visually similar to the Hi-Tec Navy Waterproof Non Safety Work Boots at Screwfix, priced at £59.99, the Lidl boots cost nearly four times less. However, the Screwfix boots offer home delivery, including free next-day delivery on orders over £50, a £5 fee for smaller orders, and the Screwfix Sprint service delivering eligible items in as little as 20 minutes for £4.99 with no minimum spend.
The Screwfix product description states: "Lightweight technical mesh for comfort and breathability with supportive overlays for structure. Dri-Tec waterproof, breathable membrane keeps feet dry."
For a higher-end option, EkoSport sells the Outchill TS CSWP by Salomon for £119, reduced from £148, in grey and brown designs. EkoSport describes it as a women's hiking boot that "protects feet on winter adventures with great agility," featuring Thinsulate™ insulation, a protective nubuck leather mid-top, and a ClimaSalomon™ waterproof membrane. The description adds: "This winter walking boot is also equipped with specially cold-resistant crampons so you can walk with confidence on snowy and icy trails."
