Lidl has introduced a new storage item in its Middle Aisle that could serve as a budget-friendly alternative to a pricier product sold at The Range. The Black Hanging Storage Baskets, priced at £9.99, are described by the supermarket as a “decorative organiser”.

Made entirely from polypropylene, the organiser features three tiers of storage, with each shelf capable of holding toiletries, décor, plants, clothing accessories and other everyday essentials. Its woven-like black design is intended to complement a variety of interior styles. The unit can be hung on a wall or door using the two holes at the top.
The product includes a stable metal frame, three compartments, and a 12-litre capacity. Each basket has a maximum load capacity of 2kg. Two differently sized hooks are included, suitable for standard doors with a depth of 1.8cm or 4.5cm. The dimensions are H72 x W25 x D15cm, and it comes with a three-year warranty.

The item is only available for in-store collection, meaning customers cannot have it delivered. Lidl advises shoppers to check stock levels at their nearest store using the online store finder, which requires entering a postcode.
The Lidl product is positioned as a cheaper alternative to The Range's 3 Tier Nylon Hanging Storage Unit, which sells for £22.99. At first glance, the two items appear quite similar. The Range's product description notes that its Vichy storage collection features a chunky yarn, plain weave fabric in a steel grey colour, described as a neutral tone suitable for contrasting with vibrant colours. The fabric is strong but lightweight and works as a decorative accessory.
The Range's storage solution is recommended for small garments, jewellery, make-up, baby accessories and more, suitable for use in bedrooms, living rooms, playrooms, utility rooms or children's bedrooms. A key difference, aside from price, is that The Range offers home delivery. Delivery fees are calculated based on the size and weight of the largest item, with standard delivery starting at £4.99 and rising to £29.99 for large bulky goods. Standard delivery is free on orders over £59, while remote postcodes and Marketplace Partners are subject to separate rates.
