Iceland Launches New Mint Chill Sprite, Sparking Mojito Comparisons

Iceland supermarket has introduced a new flavour of Sprite, dubbed Mint Chill, which has drawn comparisons to the classic mojito cocktail. The zero-sugar variant combines a citrusy base with a cooling mint aftertaste, reminiscent of the Cuban drink but without the alcohol.

The product was spotted by New Foods UK, which shared images on Facebook to its 490,000 followers. The post garnered over 300 likes and numerous enthusiastic comments, with one user noting, 'It's basically an alcohol-free mojito.' Another added, 'This would be just like drinking mojitos in the summer. Need to get some.'

However, not all feedback has been positive. One critic who tried the drink described it as tasting 'like liquid spearmint gum,' adding that it becomes 'sickly' after half a can. Another expressed frustration that the product is only available in a zero-sugar version, saying, 'I wish we could have zero sugar as an option and not forced upon us.'

The launch follows a trend of new soft drink releases in the UK, including a new Fanta flavour at Home Bargains and a nostalgic Coca-Cola variant that has delighted shoppers.
