The range includes mac and cheese, carvery pies, and loaded yorkies, with a mix-and-match offer of £8.50 for two, or £4.75 each. The reviewer visited the Kirkby town centre store and picked up the all-day breakfast loaded yorkie and the chicken and stuffing loaded yorkie.
The chicken and stuffing loaded yorkie comes with a giant Yorkshire pudding, chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, and gravy. The all-day breakfast version includes a giant Yorkshire pudding, hash browns, beans, and pigs in blankets.
Chicken yorkie review
The chicken option took 55 minutes to cook in the oven. The Yorkshire pudding had a golden crisp, and the potatoes had a nice colour, but the reviewer noted the lack of vegetables. The chicken was not the most flavoursome but was not chewy or gristly. The potatoes were a little hard, and the stuffing was tasty, resembling what you'd get at the carvery counter. The gravy was thick and worked well, though it didn't resemble Toby Carvery's famous gravy. The Yorkshire pudding had a crispy exterior but a soggy bottom from soaking up juices and gravy.
Breakfast yorkie review
The all-day breakfast yorkie also took 55 minutes to cook. The Yorkshire had a crunchy exterior and was soggy underneath, which was less pleasant soaked in bean juice. The bacon had gone crispy around the sausages, which had a nice flavour. The hash browns were mushy and lacked taste.
