A new McVitie's product has appeared on shelves at Home Bargains, and shoppers are already eager to try it. The McVitie's Digestives Milk Chocolate Festive Edition Gingerbread Flavour Slices combine a classic Digestive slice with a spiced gingerbread flavour, and fans are calling it "yum."
Festive flavour arrives early
The product was shared on social media by popular foodie account New Foods UK, which announced it was available at Home Bargains. The slices are described as bringing "together the unmistakable crunch of a classic Digestive slice with a deliciously spiced gingerbread flavour, all wrapped for your convenience."
Each pack contains five individually wrapped slices, making them suitable for lunchboxes or carrying in a handbag. The description adds that the slices are "infused with warming seasonal flavours" and "made for cosy tea breaks and sharing moments."
Shoppers react to early Christmas release
On Instagram, some users complained that it was "bit early" for festive goodies to be out, but Christmas fans said they wanted to get their hands on them as soon as possible, tagging friends to buy them some.
McVitie's has also released new festive Penguins, which New Foods UK shared as available now at Morrisons. The product is described as "Milk Chocolate with a Smooth, Creamy Cocoa Flavoured Filling and Biscuit Pieces."
Penguin treat reviewed
In Morrisons, the new Penguins are currently priced at 70p, down from £1. TikToker @snackinnsippin shared a review of the treat, noting that it has the "penguin filling on the bottom, and then the chocolate on top is filled with some weird crispy bit," which is biscuit pieces.
He described it as "gorgeous" and "so good," saying: "It's like the bourbon-y biscuity bits broken up, covered in that chocolate, and then the penguin layer is at the bottom."
