Heinz has released a new limited-edition ketchup with a fiery twist, and it could divide British shoppers. The Chilli Bite Ketchup hits shelves from September 29 for a limited time only, timed to coincide with the approach of Halloween.
A Bold New Sauce for Halloween
The special release invites ketchup fans to try a bolder alternative to their usual go-to sauce. The bottle looks like a classic Heinz ketchup bottle, but the label signals a much more fiery, daring sauce intended for a full English breakfast or fish finger tea.
Brian Dillon, an audience writer at the Express, tried it and had one thing to say: “It is not for the faint-hearted.” He noted that while it doesn't leave you gasping for water or with tears in your eyes, there is certainly a kick to it.
A Pleasant Surprise for Spice Lovers
Dillon, who eats ketchup occasionally and usually has a bottle in his cupboard, enjoyed the Chilli Bite Ketchup with some hash browns and was pleasantly surprised. He remarked that sometimes these kinds of innovations can turn out to be gimmicks, but he would recommend trying it if you like a bit of spice, especially since it's only around for a limited time.

Not Too Fiery, But With a Kick
If you're scared of the spice, be assured that it's not too fiery. There is definitely a kick, so if you're totally not into spice, then stick to the classic. But if you're ever so slightly adventurous, then Dillon thinks it's worth a go.
