Lakeland has reduced the price of a range of heated airers by up to £30 ahead of colder months, offering a more economical alternative to tumble dryers. The retailer says its heated airers cost around 8p to run, compared with 65p for a standard tumble dryer, based on an average electricity unit cost of 26.11p at the time of writing.
Discounted models for smaller and larger homes
The range spans compact three-tier designs for smaller homes to larger options that hold up to 15kg of wet washing. The dry: soon 3 Tier Heated Clothes Airer is now £139.99, down from £159.99, saving shoppers £20. The lightweight airer can hold up to two loads of laundry and folds down when not in use.
Shoppers have praised the model. One said: "It helps to dry clothes inside quickly. I don't have a cover, and it still works. I do use two bars per load, but it works great for my load and household. I only dry large clothes that cannot be tumble dried. Perfect for this. Cannot live without it." Another added: "Perfect size for a family wash. It's been extremely useful when the weather was impossible to get the washing outside."

For those prioritising speed, the Dry: soon 3-Tier Heated Airer and Bundle Cover is currently £184.98, reduced from £204.98. With 21 metres of drying space, it can hold up to 15kg of wet washing, and its foldable heated shelves make it easy to load and store. The cover features mesh panels to encourage airflow while keeping warm air around the laundry, and it can be converted into a storage bag.
The top shelves can be opened out to create extra space for longer items such as towels and trousers. The model has more than 130 five-star reviews from Lakeland customers.
