Fun Spot America in Atlanta, Georgia, is set to permanently close its doors on August 2, ending a 36-year run that began as Dixieland Fun Park in 1990. The Orlando-based Fun Spot America Theme Parks group acquired the site in 2017, but the attraction will welcome its last visitors in just a few weeks.
Rides and Attractions
The park features 14 major rides, including three high-speed roller coasters and a 40-foot go-kart track. It also boasts Georgia's only legal bungee-jumping tower, alongside gentler rides suitable for families and young children. The owners have not disclosed the reasons behind the closure, but industry analysts note that ageing theme parks often become too costly to maintain or modernise without substantial fresh investment.
Customer Notifications and Refunds
The park's owners have confirmed they will personally contact any customers who have booked school or group visits beyond the closure date. Any gift cards or season passes previously purchased must be redeemed before August 2. The remaining two Fun Spot locations in Orlando and Kissimmee will continue normal operations.
CEO Statement
"This was an extremely difficult decision," CEO John Arie Jr. said in a press statement. "Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and for the support we have received from the Fayetteville community."

Fun Spot America wrote on its Instagram page on June 25: "Come see us, make one more memory, and take one last ride." The closure adds to a growing number of theme parks shutting down across the United States.
