FatFace has never been on my radar, but its summer drop has impressed me. Curate your capsule wardrobe with this British brand.
FatFace's Summer Revamp
We’ve been teased by the prospect of summer this past month. Sunnier days and longer evenings have seen us swap out coats and boots in favour of floaty dresses and ballet flats. A brand I’ve previously slept on, FatFace is firmly on my radar this season. Just like George at Asda, Next and, most famously, M&S, the British brand has undergone a revamp in recent years. Catering for all your sunny weather needs, FatFace has become known for stylish everyday staples and a commitment to high quality fabrics. What began in the late 1980s as an adventure label selling branded jumpers and T-shirts out the back of a camper van has evolved into one of the most recognisable brands on the UK high street. Originally known for its outdoor gear, FatFace is named after the "La Face" ski slope in Val d'Isère. Circa 2010, it was associated with frumpy fashion – but it’s now a favourite among well-heeled women, parents looking for well-crafted kidswear and men looking for elevated staples.
I’ll admit, I’ve always been more likely to shop at Zara, Cos and & Other Stories – but FatFace’s new drop of wide leg linen trousers, wedding guest-appropriate dresses and hero denim pieces have lured me in. Combining a new fashion-forward approach with accessible prices, if you’re shopping for a spring capsule wardrobe, FatFace is well worth a browse. Here’s everything I’ve added to my basket, from dresses to bags.
