easyJet has confirmed a '24-hour rule' that can save passengers money when booking holidays online. The policy, known as the 'Best Price Guarantee,' was highlighted in response to a customer inquiry on social media.
How the 24-Hour Rule Works
In a post on X, a passenger named Amy contacted @easyJetholidays about price changes before making a booking. A member of easyJet's social media team, Dan, replied: "If you find the same holiday for less within 24 hours of booking with us, we'll beat it. Plus, we’ll give £5 additional discount per person (excluding infants/free children)."
easyJet's website elaborates: "At easyJet holidays, we’re so confident in our great value holidays that if you find the same holiday cheaper elsewhere within 24 hours of booking, we’ll beat it. We’ll apply a discount to the price of your easyJet holidays booking to cover the difference, plus we’ll give you an additional £5 per person discount, excluding infants and free children – meaning you can book with confidence that you’ll always get the best value with us."
Dynamic Pricing and Tips for Lower Fares
According to easyJet, the airline uses dynamic pricing for tickets. "Prices typically start low and increase as fewer seats become available. As the flight fills up, the price often increases to manage the remaining supply," the website states. Algorithms analyze historical data and booking trends to set optimal prices. This efficiency helps keep costs low, with over a third of easyJet's flights on sale for less than £50.
easyJet advises passengers to 'book early' and 'be flexible' to find the lowest fares. "Different flights appeal to different markets. Passengers who can be flexible with their travel dates or times can often find better value on less busy flights," the guidance says.
How to Claim the Guarantee
Once booked, if passengers find the same holiday cheaper elsewhere within 24 hours, they must send details via easyJet's website. The offer includes extras like 23kg luggage on beach holidays. The discount is applied to the booking price, plus the additional £5 per person discount.
