Shoppers in England and Wales are advised to plan ahead this Easter weekend as major supermarkets alter their opening hours. While Scotland is exempt, larger stores must close on Easter Sunday, and many will operate reduced hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday (April 6).
On Easter Monday, most superstores will open with reduced hours, typically closing at 6pm. Tesco Extra on Park Road, Liverpool, will open from 8am to 6pm, while most Tesco Express stores will operate as usual. Larger Asda stores will open from 8am to 10pm, but customers should check individual store times using Asda's store locator.
Sainsbury's supermarkets will be open from 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday, with most convenience stores running as usual from 7am to 11pm. Morrisons shops will close earlier at 8pm, while Morrisons Daily stores will maintain normal hours over the long weekend. Aldi stores will open from 8am to 8pm.
M&S stores will be open on Easter Monday but with altered hours. For example, the Liverpool ONE store will open at 9am and close at 6pm. Shoppers are urged to verify individual store timings to avoid inconvenience.
