Shoppers looking to make a statement with their lighting are praising a quirky floor lamp from Dunelm that combines a playful animal design with a glamorous gold finish. The Odisha Monkey Floor Lamp is priced at £79 and has earned a high 4.8 out of five-star rating on the retailer's website.
Design and Features
Standing at 150cm tall, the lamp features a detailed resin monkey figurine finished in brushed gold, alongside a black metal base and a contrasting black cotton-rich shade. It has an in-line foot switch and comes with a 180cm cable, giving shoppers flexibility over where it is positioned in the room.
The lamp takes one E27 bulb with a maximum wattage of 13W, although a bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. Designed for indoor use, it comes with a two-year guarantee and requires full assembly. A gold lining on the inside of the shade means it "gives off a lovely warm glow."
Shopper Reviews
One shopper said: "Needed a new lamp but wanted something different, so this was perfect. Then I bought the ceiling lights to match the lamp." Another added: "Really happy with this lamp. Fits the vibe of our living room perfectly and gives off a lovely warm glow thanks to the gold inside of the lampshade. Always gets compliments when people see it."
A third buyer wrote: "Superb lamp, nice and solid, plain black and simple styling, with the exception of a cheeky little monkey! It adds a nice touch of character to the room and is sure to get noticed by visitors."
Other Options and Mixed Feedback
A handful of shoppers disagreed, however. One said: "It was delivered quickly - easy to put together, looks lovely. I just thought it would be shinier, but I still love it." Another commented: "This is a nice floor lamp; as with presumably everyone else who bought this, I was drawn in by the monkey. However, considering the price, I feel an E27 bulb and shade ring component should have been included."
