Dundee Utd and St Mirren Chase Sinclair; Mackay-Steven Deal

SPFL clubs are pressing ahead with the summer transfer window set to open in just a few days. Record Sport's resident transfer guru Scott Burns brings the latest from across the Scottish pyramid.

Dundee United and St Mirren Battle for Ross Sinclair

Both Dundee United and St Mirren have expressed interest in St Johnstone goalkeeper Ross Sinclair. The 25-year-old is out of contract at McDiarmid Park, and St Johnstone have offered him an extension. Sinclair had a successful emergency loan spell at St Mirren last season, helping them avoid relegation via the play-offs. St Mirren manager Craig McLeish, now permanently appointed, has indicated he would like to keep Sinclair. St Mirren's previous No. 1, Shamal George, has departed.

Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin is also keen on Sinclair. United goalkeeping coach Paul Mathers previously worked with Sinclair at St Johnstone. The Tannadice club is exploring backup options for Jack Walton after Dave Richards turned down a new contract.

Mark O'Hara Weighs Options

St Mirren captain Mark O'Hara is considering several offers. The Buddies have proposed a new deal to their skipper, and the midfielder is mulling over extending his four-year stay in Paisley. Premiership rivals Kilmarnock are also considering a move. The 30-year-old has options in England, Europe, and Asia.

Gary Mackay-Steven Set for Partick Thistle New Deal

Partick Thistle are poised to hand Gary Mackay-Steven a new contract. The 35-year-old signed a short-term deal at Firhill last season. Manager Mark Wilson has offered him a one-year extension, and talks are ongoing with the former Scotland international.

Interest in Oli Shaw

Several clubs are keen on Hamilton Accies striker Oli Shaw. Livingston, Inverness Caley Thistle, and Ross County are all interested. It remains to be seen if any club will meet Hamilton's valuation. St Johnstone were interested in January but turned their attention elsewhere.

Airdrie Target Ewan Simpson

Airdrie are looking to sign young midfielder Ewan Simpson from Aston Villa. Airdrie boss John Rankin knows Simpson from their time together at Hamilton, where Simpson had a successful loan spell. The Scot is seeking more first-team exposure with the Diamonds.

Fergus Owens Wanted for Hamilton Return

Defender Fergus Owens is wanted for a return to Hamilton. He joined Morton on a short-term deal in January, and Morton boss Darian Mackinnon wants to bring the 23-year-old back. Accies hope their signing ban will be lifted soon. They have already lined up similar deals for Andy Ryan and Cameron Blues.
