Domino's has launched two new pizza flavours inspired by Indian cuisine, combining two of the UK's favourite takeaways. According to the chain, a third of Brits eat Indian food once a week, and the national dish is Chicken Tikka Masala. The new offerings are the Ultimate Gunpowder Chicken Pizza and the Ultimate Masala Paneer Pizza, alongside a new side of Ultimate Gunpowder wings.
The Gunpowder Chicken pizza features slow-cooked chicken thigh seasoned with green chilli, cumin and coriander, topped with jalapeños. The Masala Paneer pizza includes paneer marinated in tikka Methi paste, roasted and scattered with green and red peppers, jalapeños, red onion and mozzarella on a tomato sauce base.
A reviewer from the Daily Mirror tried the new menu and found the chicken pizza 'absolutely delicious', noting the Indian fusion from the spices and the heat from the peppers and jalapeños. However, the paneer pizza was less impressive, lacking the same punch and tasting more like a cheesy pizza. The wings were praised as well-seasoned, juicy and recommended for chicken wing lovers.
Overall, the concept was deemed great for switching up pizza choices, though it may not completely replace classic favourites like the Chicken Feast. The reviewer suggests it's worth trying for those who enjoy Indian spices and flavours.
