Denby Pottery Village, the flagship destination of the iconic British brand in Derbyshire, is holding a closing down sale event all this week and over the first two days of the August bank holiday weekend. The site, where Denby potters have been handcrafting stoneware since 1809, will close its doors for the last time at the end of trading on Sunday 30 August 2026.
Final chance for shoppers
The news means fans of the brand have less than a week to make their final visit to the store and purchase Denby's handmade pottery and crockery at significantly reduced prices. Prices start from as little as £2 per item, with bundles of four items available for between £6 and £12.
Tony Wright, joint administrator of the Denby group of companies and partner at FRP, said: "It's undoubtedly a sad moment to see the Pottery Village close after so many years as the home of this much-loved British brand. We wanted to give shoppers and Denby enthusiasts the chance to visit one final time and take home a piece of its heritage."
Brand continues under new ownership
Wright added: "While the stores are closing, the Denby brand itself will continue under new ownership, ensuring its legacy lives on. We hope as many people as possible will come along and help give the Pottery Village the send-off it deserves."
Denby Pottery Village will be open from 9AM to 5PM every day this week until close of trading at 4PM on Sunday 30 August 2026. The site is located on Derby Road in the village of Denby, approximately eight miles north of Derby.
Other stores closing
The remaining stores in Ashford, Portsmouth, Braintree, York, Dalton Park, Castleford and Cheshire Oaks will also be closing their doors for good this week.
