Deliveroo Launches Restaurant Table Booking Service in London

Deliveroo is set to expand beyond its traditional takeaway delivery service with the launch of a new restaurant table booking feature. The company, acquired by DoorDash for £2.9 billion last year, will introduce Deliveroo Reservations in London on Thursday.

Customers will be able to book tables at hundreds of leading London eateries, including Dishoom, Dove, Hide, Kricket, Barrafina and Kolae. The service integrates technology from SevenRooms, a restaurant booking platform purchased by DoorDash for approximately £900 million last year.

The move follows DoorDash's introduction of restaurant bookings on its US platform late last year. Deliveroo plans to extend the service across the UK later this year, as part of a broader strategy to diversify beyond its primary takeaway delivery business.

Suzy McClintock, vice president for consumer and new verticals at Deliveroo, said: 'This launch is about supporting restaurants to grow in new ways. Whether it's a Deliveroo order or a reservation in store, we want to drive discovery, demand and revenue across every channel.'

Joel Montaniel, vice president and co-founder of SevenRooms, added: 'Restaurants thrive on the relationships they build with their guests. Bringing reservations into the Deliveroo app gives London restaurants a new way to connect with diners and grow.'
