Dad Wins £500 Father's Day Makeover at The Centre, Livingston

Paul Murray, a father from West Lothian, has been awarded a Father's Day makeover worth over £500, courtesy of The Centre, Livingston. The prize was his after a heartfelt nomination penned by his daughter Danielle, who recently gave birth to a baby girl.

Nomination Stands Out

Each year, the shopping centre receives numerous emotional nominations, making it challenging for the management team to select a single winner. This year, Danielle's story resonated deeply as she detailed the unwavering support her father provided during her pregnancy.

Danielle said: “My dad is genuinely one of the most supportive and kind people I’ve ever known, especially over the last few months when he’s taken me to my hospital appointments and before then when I was studying – it was a very proud moment for him at my graduation last September – and my mum too.” She emphasized that winning the prize would be a meaningful way to express gratitude for his lifelong support.

The Makeover Experience

Paul was joined by his wife Sharon on the pampering day, which included a personal shopping session with local stylist Leigh Maybury, a £150 Gift Card for a new outfit, and additional gifts from various retailers. With his son's engagement party approaching and plans for photos with his new granddaughter, Paul chose a new ensemble from River Island—jeans, a t-shirt, and a stylish green jacket—guided by Leigh's advice on building a capsule wardrobe and mixing and matching across seasons.

The day continued with visits to stores offering gifts: Lush provided a hand and arm massage, while MenKind presented a goody bag containing a 'dad’s joke book'. Starbucks gave Paul a coffee and treats hamper, and Bakers + Baristas offered a box of six muffins. His prize also featured a skincare consultation and products from Boots, including No7 skincare, a shaver, and an electric toothbrush, plus a voucher for a haircut at XXXTRA. The experience concluded with a complimentary lunch for two at Nando's, one of Paul's favorite restaurants.
