Kennington's Growing Community

Kennington is one of Kent's most sought-after villages, located just north of Ashford and surrounded by rolling countryside. Popular with commuters thanks to its proximity to Ashford International station, the village combines a rural feel with easy access to shops, schools, and transport links. In recent years, new housing developments have brought an influx of residents, increasing demand for local amenities and services.

Ian Rowe, Co-op's area manager, said: "We're delighted to invest in Kennington, and proud to launch Co-op's newest store to serve and support the community. The whole team is focused on becoming part of local community life. Co-op is committed to backing high streets and communities, and we have worked to ensure the store is a hub locally."

The retailer said shoppers can expect a range of promotions, member offers, and everyday essentials alongside added services designed to support busy lifestyles. Mr Rowe added: "We have a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone, there are deals and promotions throughout the store and this sits alongside a range of added services to make everyday life easier for our community. We are all really looking forward to welcoming our members and customers into their new-look Co-op – we're here to serve and support the community, conveniently."

Kennington, a popular village on the outskirts of Ashford, has seen significant housing growth in recent years, with the new store opening to meet increasing demand from residents moving into the area. The launch marks the latest expansion by Co-op as the retailer continues to invest in local convenience stores across the UK.
