Care home backs Ayr United in new sponsorship deal

Ayr United Football Club has a new generation of supporters this season, thanks to residents from a Doonfoot care home. Greenan Manor Care Home, run by Meallmore, has become a new sponsor of the Honest Men.

Residents choose Ayr United

The sponsorship was prompted by Greenan Manor’s ‘giving back’ initiative, to support the local community. Ayr United were chosen by residents and colleagues at the care home, as many have long-standing connections with the club and a passion for local football.

Residents Ann, Nancy, Ken, and Jean went along to Somerset Park to see the new advertising board, while resident, Professor Ken Peach attended the first sponsorship event with Greenan Manor Activities Co-ordinator, Natalie Brown.

Season ahead

As the season progresses, residents are looking forward to attending home fixtures and sponsorship events.

Joe Janikowski, Care Home Manager at Greenan Manor, said: “Strong communities are built through meaningful partnerships, and we’re thrilled to play a small part in supporting a club that means so much to the people of Ayr.

“Ayr United brings people together, creates a sense of pride within the town and promotes community spirit. We’re proud to be investing in something that inspires people of all ages and provides positive opportunities for individuals and families throughout the area.

“Professor Peach and Natalie thoroughly enjoyed going along to the game last week and supporting the team. For those with a passion for sports, these outings help maintain connections with lifelong interests, stimulate the mind, and promote overall happiness, reinforcing our commitment to person-centred care that supports both the body and spirit.

“We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Ayr United and creating opportunities for our residents, colleagues, and families to engage with the club throughout the season.”
