Cadbury has confirmed a new Christmas chocolate product is heading to UK supermarkets ahead of Christmas 2026. The iconic brand hasn't revealed an exact release date, but has teased it will become available "soon."
What are the Smash Baubles?
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Smash Baubles are new for Christmas 2026, available in two flavours: Chocolate Buttons and Freddo. Each features a round hollow shell made from signature creamy Cadbury Dairy Milk, wrapped to look like a slightly oversized Christmas bauble. Smashing it open reveals treats inside, similar to some of Cadbury's Easter eggs.
Depending on which you choose, you'll get either mini Freddos or classic Cadbury chocolate buttons. The foil wrapper also has a little hole designed for threading string, so you can make a Christmas tree decoration with the leftovers.
Availability and price
While the product hasn't hit supermarket shelves yet, it's available to order now for £2.70 from the Cadbury Gifts Direct website.
A Cadbury spokesperson said: "It seems it’s never too early for a little festive magic! We can confirm the rumours are true: the Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Smash Bauble will be joining our Cadbury Christmas line-up this year."
"Whilst some of our eagle-eyed fans may have caught an early sneak peek, we’re keeping the full details of our festive range under wraps for now. We’ll be unveiling them nationwide soon, so watch this space!"
Fan reactions
Some fans took to social media to share their excitement. "Now I can get an Easter egg at Christmas," one excited chocolate fan said. Another wrote: "Need!!! Easter egg chocolate is the best. Now I can have it at Xmas."
Others were skeptical. One social media user wrote: "Repurposed, relabelled left over Easter egg, anyone?" Another said: "Basically an Easter egg."
In the product description, Cadbury says: "Smash, shake, snack! Smash open for Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo Faces treats inside." It adds: "Perfect for a stocking filler or a Secret Santa Christmas chocolate gift for Christmas 2026."
