Brewers Fayre has announced the closure of all its UK and Northern Ireland restaurants, with the final day of trading set for Monday, September 7, 2026. The decision follows parent company Whitbread's announcement in April of a new five-year strategy aimed at cutting costs by £250 million and reducing 3,800 jobs.
Closure Details and Customer Communication
In an email sent to customers on Monday, Brewers Fayre expressed gratitude and explained the reason for the closures: "We want to say a huge thank you for your custom at our Brewers Fayre restaurants. As you may have seen, we have recently announced changes to our business, which is resulting in the closure of our Branded Restaurants. This means that on Monday September 7 2026, your local Brewers Fayre and all other UK & Northern Ireland Brewers Fayre will close."
The chain also noted that selected restaurants may close earlier than September 7, with separate communication to be provided for any earlier closures.
Loyalty Scheme Wind-Down
Brewers Fayre provided details on the closure of its loyalty schemes, including the Brewers Fayre Bonus Club, Reward Club, and Tasty Rewards. These schemes will close on Monday, August 31, 2026. Customers are advised to earn or enter points by August 24, convert points to vouchers and use them by August 31, and note that all live points balances will expire at 7am on September 1.
The email reminded customers that loyalty points-based voucher terms and conditions apply until closure, and that customers not opted in to marketing emails will not receive further communications. It ended with: "From all of us at Brewers Fayre, thank you for being a valued customer."
