Boxing Day 2025 Supermarket Opening Hours Revealed

As the festive season continues, shoppers are reminded to check altered opening hours for supermarkets on Boxing Day, December 26. Hours vary significantly between stores and regions, with some chains closing entirely in parts of the UK while others operate reduced schedules.

Tesco will open from 9am to 6pm on Boxing Day. Sainsbury's will be open from 9am to 6pm, with some stores operating 8am to 8pm and smaller Local stores open until 10pm. Asda will open from 6am to 7pm. Morrisons will be open from 9am to 6pm, but hours may vary by location.

Aldi will remain closed across the UK on Boxing Day. Lidl stores inside the M25 will open from 10am to 6pm, but outside the M25 they will be closed; in Scotland, Lidl will open from 11am to 5pm, while Welsh stores will be closed. Waitrose and M&S will be closed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but open in Scotland (Waitrose 8am-10pm, M&S 9am-6pm). Co-op hours vary widely, with some stores open from 8am to 9pm or 10am to 7pm.
