Boots £10 foundation matches '99% of UK skin tones' and 'doesn't leave streaks'
Boots £10 foundation matches '99% of UK skin tones'

The Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, priced at £9.99 at Boots, is claimed to match 99% of UK skin tones and has earned a 4.3-star rating from customers for its streak-free, buildable coverage.

The foundation uses Rimmel's Smart-Tone technology, combining pigments designed to replicate real skin tones for a precise shade and undertone match. Available in 22 shades, the buildable, medium-coverage formula aims to minimise the appearance of pores while enhancing the skin's natural look.

Skincare benefits and SPF

The formula includes aloe vera for up to 24 hours of moisture and hydration, along with SPF 20 protection. Originally launched in 2010 and refined multiple times since, the foundation has returned to the spotlight following Rimmel's newly announced partnership with Chelsea FC Women for the 2026/27 season.

The collaboration seeks to unite beauty and sport throughout the campaign, with football supporters able to enjoy community-driven events and product sampling at Chelsea Women's home fixtures.

Customer feedback

Boots customers have left positive reviews, with one commenting: "I have scarring on my face and large pores, and this is so lovely on my skin; it applies well, as well as being buildable. This smells great, and the coverage is great too. You can build this to full coverage without the cakey look."

Another reviewer said: "It has a good consistency, light but creamy and has a good coverage as well. It felt like a little goes a long way... I felt it matched my skin tone and that it didn't cling to my dry skin patches to make them super obvious. It lasted for about nine hours without the need to top it up."

However, one mixed review noted: "I liked the look and feel of this foundation; my only issue was the colour didn't match me very well. It was too light and made me look a bit too pale."

Alternatives and availability

Other options include Sculpted by Aimee's Cream Cushion Foundation (£28, Cult Beauty) and Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturiser Natural Dewy SPF 30 (£39, Space NK).

Giulia Mazzia, commercial director of Chelsea FC Women, said: "What excites us most about the growth of women's football is the diverse community it continues to build. Both beauty and sport are spaces for connection, confidence and self-expression."
