The owner of a beloved Liverpool shoe shop plans to sell up after more than four decades in the business. Robert Sealing has owned Bobby's Shoes for 45 years, with the children's footwear retailer spending the past 11 years at its current home on Lorenzo Drive in Norris Green.
Business on the Market
The long-established business has now been placed on the market with a leasehold asking price of £80,000. The shop is currently listed on Rightmove and is being marketed by business property advisers Christie & Co.
Specialist Children's Footwear
Bobby's Shoes specialises in children's footwear, stocking leather shoes, school shoes and well known brands including Kickers and Lacoste. The shop also sells socks, tights, bags and footwear for special occasions.
After decades serving generations of families, Robert has decided to sell the business in order to retire.
Prime Location
The sales listing describes Bobby's Shoes as an established footwear retailer with a high footfall, occupying a prominent position within a retail park which is also home to an Aldi and a Subway.
According to the listing, the shop floor is bright, spacious and well presented, offering an open-plan retail environment. The premises are also said to benefit from ample storage space and staff facilities, allowing a new owner to begin trading immediately.
Social Media Presence
Bobby's Shoes has also built up a strong social media presence in recent years, with Robert (Bobby) regularly sharing videos on TikTok showcasing the store and its products.
The videos have attracted comments from loyal customers, including many whose families have been shopping there for generations.
One customer wrote: "Awwww made up you're on TikTok. My mum used to get my shoes from you and now I get my kids' shoes from here."
Another said: "My mum used to get my shoes and my brother's and sister's shoes off Bobby. He's a true Scouser."
A third described Bobby's Shoes as the "best children's shoe shop in Liverpool".
Agent's Comments
Chris Nay, business agent at Christie & Co, said: "The sale of Bobby's Shoes presents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well-run, long-established retail business with a proven track record.
"Trading from a prominent position within a busy retail park, the business benefits from strong footfall, excellent visibility and convenient on-site parking, and is ready for a new owner to take the shop into its next chapter."
