B&M is selling the Blaupunkt 5 Fin Oil-Filled Radiator for £24, a portable device designed to deliver “steady, reliable warmth” while helping households keep heating costs down.
The compact heater is intended for heating one room at a time, allowing users to “enjoy cosy temperatures without worrying about your energy bills.”
Compact Design and Efficiency
Featuring five heating fins, the device weighs just 2.62 kg and measures 24x14x39cm, making it suitable for medium-sized areas such as home offices and bedrooms. Its graphite colourway is designed to fit with any home décor.
With a heat output of 650W, the radiator costs around 17p per hour to run, based on the Sust.it.net energy calculator. It also includes an adjustable thermostat to control heat output, offering “maximum comfort” without causing bills to soar, and can serve as a backup if central heating breaks down.
Popularity and Heat Retention
Portable radiators have grown in popularity, particularly since money expert Martin Lewis advised “heat the human not the home” to combat the cost of living crisis. Oil-filled radiators are especially favoured for their heat retention, cooling down slower than traditional fan heaters and continuing to provide warmth when switched off.
A product description states: “Designed with five heating fins, this compact radiator delivers steady, reliable warmth, making it ideal for bedrooms, home offices, and other medium to small spaces. Its adjustable thermostat allows you to easily set the desired temperature, ensuring maximum comfort while being environmentally friendly. And with an efficient output of 650W, you can enjoy cosy temperatures without worrying about your energy bills. Lightweight and portable, this radiator is easy to move from room to room ensuring you stay warm and comfortable during those extra chilly days.”
Other Heating Options
B&M also offers the Blaupunkt Log Effect Electric Stove at £45, designed to replicate a traditional log burner, and the Blaupunkt Plug-in Fan Heater and Blaupunkt 200W Fan Heater at £15 each for smaller areas. Additional cost-effective alternatives include heated waffle throws for £35, thermal-lined blankets, and heated water bottles.
The Blaupunkt 5 Fin Oil-Filled Radiator is available in B&M stores now for £24.
