Black Cat Bar & Bottle Shop is set to open its fourth venue, Village Cat, in Woolton Village on Friday, July 31. The new bar will occupy the premises previously home to Coast Café Bistro, which closed in July 2024 due to rising costs and reduced income.
Opening date teased
In a recent Instagram update, the team posted: "Sorting out the front of the building this week! Fresh paint, fixed wood, new signage... And these brand new awnings! Should we open on 31st? What do you reckon?" Village Cat had previously stated it would open before the end of July, pointing to the 31st as the likely date.
Black Cat's expansion
Black Cat started on Smithdown Road, expanded to Rose Lane in Mossley Hill in 2024, and opened a third location on Parr Street in Liverpool city centre in October, taking over from Crazy Pedro's. Owner Andy Scott said: "I lived around here for ages and ages. I wanted there to be somewhere that I would want to go for a pint."
