Social media favourite Big John, who has nearly 800,000 Instagram followers, has praised a Chinese restaurant in Newcastle's Chinatown as 'simply superb' after a visit to the city.
Big John, dad of boxer Johnny Fisher and leader of the Romford Bull Army, initially headed to Newcastle's newest Chinese, Chinese 98 next to Haymarket, but found he had missed its closing time by 15 minutes.
Advice from followers leads to Landmark
Filming from outside the takeaway, he asked his Geordie followers for advice on where to go. After they replied in their hundreds, he walked the short distance to Stowell Street and was far from disappointed with the recommendation of Landmark.
Returning to Instagram shortly after, Big John uploaded a video of him with the owner of the highly rated haunt and captioned it: 'Simply superb. What a place , the owner Yen has been here 21 years. A restaurant is not just about the food. This place has it all.'

He added: 'I am a full paying customer , no discount , no freebie just praising a great restaurant when I come across one.Up the Toon!'
Landmark were quick to return the compliment in the comments thread of John's post, responding: 'What a guy! Thanks for the visit Big John, Enjoy Newcastle.'
