Aldi Reveals Best Times to Shop for Up to 75% Off Food Deals

With the summer holidays still ongoing, Aldi is helping families manage their budgets by revealing the best times to shop for discounted items. According to Utility Warehouse, families spend an average of £401 on groceries and snacks during the break, prompting the supermarket to offer practical advice.

Aldi has identified three 'quiet times' when shoppers are more likely to find deals: early mornings between 8am and 10am, late afternoons from 4pm to 5pm, and evenings between 8pm and 10pm. Unlike other supermarkets, Aldi does not use yellow stickers; instead, red labels are placed on bakery, meat, and deli items nearing their best-before dates, with discounts of up to 75%.

Staff typically begin marking down items towards the end of the day, making the 8pm to 10pm window particularly fruitful for bargains. Additionally, Aldi's 'Super Six' section offers six fruit or vegetable items at extra-low prices, rotated every fortnight. Shoppers can check online for current offers and freeze suitable items for later use.

Aldi is also running a Summer Support Scheme, where one family each day in August can win a £50 voucher by emailing their name and address to SummerSupportScheme@aldi.co.uk. Furthermore, the Mamia New Parent Fund offers a chance to win a £100 voucher for parents who send a receipt of their latest Mamia nappy purchase to mamiaparentfund@aldi.co.uk.
